Material Properties

Reference library of structural material properties — concrete, reinforcing and structural steel, timber, masonry and aluminum. Every value cites its code clause. Characteristic values only; apply your project's partial factors and National Annex.

Ecm, fctm and the strain limits are computed from the analytical relations of EN 1992-1-1 Table 3.1; the printed table rounds them (fctm to 0.1 MPa, Ecm to 1 GPa). Design values use αcc = 0.85 and γc = 1.5— the convention used across this site's RC tools; both are Nationally Determined Parameters.
Deliberately Omitted
  • Glulam GL22h / GL26h: Classes exist in EN 14080:2013 but their stiffness/density table values could not be verified against a reliable reproduction of the standard; omitted rather than approximated.
  • Glulam GL36h: Not a class of EN 14080:2013 — it belonged to the superseded EN 1194 and is no longer producible/declarable under the current standard.
  • Hardwood timber classes (D18–D70): EN 338:2016 D-class values not verified; softwood C-classes cover the vast majority of structural use.
  • Aluminum: EC9 values for 6060/6063/6005A/5083/7020: EN 1999-1-1 Table 3.2b values for these alloys could not be verified from an accessible copy of the table; only verified alloys are listed. 6063 is covered on the ASTM side.
  • Masonry: tabulated fk per unit product: Unit strength is manufacturer-specific. The EC6 §3.6.1.2 model (K table + equations) is provided instead; K values are EN recommendations — check your National Annex.
